Independent game studio — Rotterdam
A serin is a finch the size of your thumb that out-sings birds three times its weight. We took the name on purpose. Serin is a small studio on the Rotterdam harbour making games that punch well above their budget.
The studio
We’re an independent studio in Rotterdam. Our office is on the Sluisjesdijk, which is a working harbour street — the view out of the window is cranes, containers and a lot of weather. It has turned out to be a good place to make things.
Serin is small by choice. Everyone who touches a game is in the same room, which means decisions happen in a conversation rather than a document, and anyone can say “this isn’t fun yet” without it becoming a meeting.
We named the studio after a bird that weighs eleven grams and can be heard across a field. That’s the whole plan, really.
We build and own what we make. No work-for-hire, no live-service treadmill, no announcing a game eighteen months before anyone can play it. When something is good, we’ll show it — and until then this page stays honest about where we are.
Contact
Three inboxes, all read by actual people in the office. We answer everything that isn’t a cold sales email, and occasionally those too.
Anything at all — questions, hellos, people who want to visit the harbour.
Keys, assets and interviews, as soon as there’s something worth covering.
Publishing, funding, porting and partnerships. Short emails preferred.
